As you know, there are costs associated with drug testing. What you may not know is that the State of Arkansas offers a way to help offset those costs in the form of a 5% credit on your Workers Compensation Premium . Any Employer who is certified as a Drug Free Workplace by the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission qualifies for that 5% Credit . There are requirements that have to be met in order to become a Certified Drug Free Workplace of which we would be happy to discuss more in depth; but at a high level, you have to use a certified lab and drug test your employees pre- hire, randomly, and post-accident. Many of you may already be doing this and not taking advantage of this credit. If that is the case, you need to apply for official certification--- NOW!

If you have not been drug testing because of the cost, this is something that you should take into consideration as an offset to some of those costs.
