Risk Management Tools

By Nick Hall Cross Pointe Insurance Advisors In Partnership with Arkansas HVACR Association

We did it. We made it to 2021. We know 2020 was a tough year for many and we hope 2021 brings a better year. 2020 was, in a lot of ways, a year of reaction. Reaction of circumstances beyond our control. When it comes to protecting your business, you cannot afford to be reactive. The highest performing Risk Management Programs take proactive measures to avoid and mitigate risk, while remaining reactive will leave you open to risks that result in money and time wasted. In each edition of this article we will help you become proactive in your Risk Management Strategies by introducing you to a different Risk Management Tool that you can use to become a safer company and in turn save money. Since this is the first edition of Cross Pointe’s Risk Management Tool, let me take a minute to introduce who we are to those of you t hat don’t know us. Cross Pointe Insurance Advisors has a long trusted history as one of the oldest and largest insurance agencies in Arkansas beginning 1889. We have since evolved into a leader in Property and Casualty Insurance, Employee

Benefits, and Personal Insurance in the River Valley area and beyond with 13 offices throughout Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. At Cross Pointe, we aim to help our clients reduce their true cost of risk by implementing and managing custom risk reduction programs that ultimately result in more profit. Our process is to assess your business, design a custom program based on that assessment, implement the program, and then tailor insurance policies to meet the overall Risk Management Strategies. Now for our first Risk Management Tool – Drug Testing and the Drug Free Credit you can receive on your Workers Compensation policy. There are many advantages to Drug Testing your employees--from lower turnover to better performance. From a purely Risk Management perspective, employers who drug test their employees are much less likely to have their employees actually come to work impaired. An impaired employee is much more likely to have an accident that hurts your company’s reputation and bottom line.
