Most Important Election of the Century The National as well as State election is only 66 days off from the day this NewsMagazine was published. Lots can change in 66 days but one thing is certain, the stakes are high. In the minds of both Democrats and Republicians, this is the biggie, the big enchilada. Democrats are convinced that we need to save democracy and Republicians are convinced that we need to restore democracy. It is not appropriate for the Association to tell you who to vote for; however, it is imperative that you carefully consider the candidates policies. Our country is now spending more for interest on the national debt than we do on the defense budget. I can say this without choosing sides. Our grandchildren will be paying for our generation ’ s fiscal malfeasance. We have been selfish and spent as though we deserved anything and everything — right now. We must make our grandchildrens ’ future our priority today and let that reflect in our vote. So, consider the candidates and determine which one will save our country for our grandchildren.
